Jean-Léon Gérôme – Pollice Verso – Mouse Pad
Bring the drama of the Roman arena to your desk with this Jean-Léon Gérôme Pollice Verso mouse pad.
Painted in 1872, Gérôme’s celebrated scene shows a victorious gladiator standing over his fallen opponents while looking towards the surrounding spectators for their response. Detailed architecture, richly coloured textiles, gleaming armour and the crowded amphitheatre combine to create one of the nineteenth century’s most memorable visions of ancient Rome.
The horizontal mouse-pad format suits the scene particularly well, allowing the central gladiator, fallen fighters and surrounding spectators to remain visible while giving the arena composition room to unfold across the surface.
For the best presentation in this format, the artwork has been carefully adapted from the original composition while preserving its principal figures, architecture and overall character.
A distinctive gladiator mouse pad for admirers of Jean-Léon Gérôme, ancient Rome, classical history, academic painting and museum-inspired design. Ideal for a home office, study, gaming setup or creative workspace.
Artwork note: The source artwork has been carefully prepared for print, with restrained enlargement and compositional adaptation used to preserve detail and balance across the mouse-pad format.
